Am I the only person who is absolutely shocked at the price of crib bedding!? It's just as expensive as grown-up bedding sets (sometimes more!).
I've been thinking about decorating the nursery and I'd like to start with the crib bedding. I don't want anything too boyish-looking in case we have a daughter later, so I've been striving for pretty gender-neutral bedding. But the price tag!! It makes me cringe. If you know of any affordable options out there for crib bedding (maybe secondhand?), I'm all ears!
In the meantime, here are some of the ones I've been drooling over lately:
I really wouldn't know. But it's good to be learning from you! It is possible that you can find something on etsy for cheaper? In Fiji, we'd be able to get a tailor to sew them up for almost nothing. But if prices in your neck of the woods are anything like they are in Australia then that might not be an option :/
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy how much it costs! I love your picks! 2 is one of my faves that I have pinned for munchkin 2 (since we.don't know boy or girl yet...) I really like your #1 also. Check craigslist fog your area I saw on ours not to long ago brand new pottery barn crib bedding for 1/2 the original price didn't get it Bc it was definitely for a girl.
ReplyDeletethey are all lovely. you have wonderful taste so whatever you choose will be beautiful.
ReplyDeletelove these choices! I have never shopped for crib bedding, but I can only imagine it's crazy! I've heard of people making bedding....do you have a friend/relative who sews well? Good call on the geneder-neutral choice!
ReplyDeleteI love the second one and the fourth one! I wish I had some good tips for you! Maybe Goodwill or other consignment shops?
ReplyDeletenumber 4 all the way! yellow and grey chevrons! TOTALLY!
ReplyDeleteI love the cribs with hidden storage options underneath!! Although, 3 unnamed troublemakers in your home may think it their special place!!! Love you, Mom
ReplyDeleteThe deer set is my favorite! When my friend was expecting and looking at bedding, I almost died. So expensive.

I was shocked at prices when I went shopping for my granddaughter. You might try children's consignment shops and definitely watch for sales. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd one is my fave.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked too at the price! I ordered ours from Amazon and it's cute and all, but I felt like I didn't use all of the pieces. For example, you can't use the comforter until they're older (But I guess you could hang it up) and I was nervous about bumpers when she was tiny b/c there's a whole controversy about that. We use bumpers now that she's older. Oh but she didn't sleep in her crib for the first 6 months anyway, lol!
I love your choices!!
ReplyDeleteBaby bedding is ridiculously expensive. If you have a Homegoods by you or a TJ Maxx, they sometimes bring in really nice ones for a fraction of the cost of regular retail...I've seen some great ones at Target too. You might try mixing and matching as well. Pick your favorite piece in the expensive print, choosing just one or two piecesand then add in store brand solids to co-ordinate.
Can't wait to see what you pick!!
baby bedding is totally expensive! With my son we did a theme, kind of like brown and off white. But with my daughter I decided to go white with her crib sheet. Just plain white crib sheet, and a white minky bumper. I put all the emphasis of her room and colors in the decor on her walls and furniture. And I don't have to worry about changing the colors of the decor because white goes with everything, right? Hehe. I love some of the beddings you have picked so far. They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! All super cute choices!!! I LOOOOVE #1 and #4.
ReplyDeleteANd PS: I never knew how expensive bedding can get. thanks for educating me!!! ;)
IKEA has some really affordable options! I wouldn't spend much on it, because honestly you will not use the comforter, and we didn't use bumpers either because of the risk of suffocation. We just got some pretty sheets, and I had a favorite blanket that I would tuck under the mattress so he couldn't kick it over his head. Sleep sacks are great and very safe as well!
