I just realized that I haven't shared many pictures of our short week up in Michigan this summer! This is a shot of my husband, his mom, and our nephew at the pond behind my in-laws' house. They're looking for frogs! Adorable, right?

Saturday Snapshot: Family Time

We are currently in Michigan, visiting my husband's family:

(Hubby's on the right, and this was the day we discovered our dog Barney is not a fan of the ocean!)

We're not at the beach, we're on the family farm instead. It's been such a lovely visit! The only thing I regret is not having as much internet access - I miss reading your blogs!

Saturday Snapshot - Blogger meet-up edition

I've never been to a blog conference and I've never met any of my bloggy friends in real life.... until last night!

I was excited at the opportunity to meet up with some fellow Dallas bloggers. Nervous, too, I must admit.

When you blog, you can put your best self forward. You can pretty up your header, use a fancy font, and make sure you're putting your best content out there. In real life, you can't as easily cover up that zit that's been plaguing you, and what if you have something stuck in your teeth? Will anyone tell you?

My fears proved unfounded as these lovely ladies were warm and friendly and everything they are on their blogs! We talked and ate and laughed. And we talked about blogging - which was sooooo nice because none of my in-real-life friends blog or understand it in the slightest!

I can't wait to do this again (and if you're a DFW blogger, join us next time!).

My Royal Wedding - Saturday Snapshot

My wedding counts as royal because my name (Sarah) means "princess"! So I totally had a royal wedding .... right?!

I caught a few glimpses of the beautiful ceremony yesterday morning. A bit too much pomp and circumstance for me, but then again.... I got married under a gazebo with some picnic tables nearby!

Two weeks ago, we were in Alabama to visit some family. While there, we decided to hop on over to New Orleans for a few nights. I'd never been before!

As you can see, eating the "beignets" and drinking the cafe au lait was the highlight of my trip!!
