Craft space

Since moving into our new house at the end of last August, I really haven't had any time to devote to my crafting space. You know, because school started and annoying things got in the way of my creativity, like writing lesson plans and making a difference in kids' lives.

But now that summer break is almost here, I can finally start organizing my craft area the way I'd like it to be. I've just been drooling over the creative spaces I've seen out there on the internet:

There's no way my space is going to look nearly so wonderful, but I'm at least going to shoot for having my materials clearly displayed and organized. I'm sure it will be a multi-step project. Hopefully I'll be able to show before and after pictures soon!

What does your crafting space look like?

  1. beautiful picks!

My place is too small to have a craft space, I just keep my stuff organized in ikea storage containers and then use whatever area is clear to work on

  2. I have no crafting space. It is the floor or on the bed. *ear* some day I will have a nice crafting space.. someday

  3. I'm jealous, my crafting space looks like my kitchen table, covered in crap with an easel next to it. Sometimes I move the easel to the garage or the spare room where I have drawers and shelves full of more crap.

  4. my craft studio is in desperate need of a face lift. like clean/organize/rearrange. I've been collecting a lot of pictures of studios for inspiration. I've got the Spring Cleaning bug and I really want to just get in there and fix it up. :]

  5. My craft/art room isn't so lovely but I'm thankful I finally have one. Maybe some day I'll make it look fun... baby steps. :)
    Good luck with yours!

  6. Wow, that's a great looking work area. I have an area, but it's a basement corner and not nearly so nice. Mostly it's shelves for storing vintage items.

  7. Those are some beautiful spaces that you found! My work room looks like a bomb went off in it right now. I've been meaning to organize it and make it pretty since we moved into our house 2 years ago, too. I feel your pain. =)

  9. I'm in the process of making my craft space pretty and functional. I think the best recommendation is to take it slow, think about what you really want and need and what will work for you. It should also be pretty and well organized, so that you can feel inspired in your space!

  10. These spaces are so organized and beautiful! My studio space is always way too messy and cluttered. But I have come to accept that's the way I work best. I do wish I had more natural light though... something to strive for in the future.
