Barn Love

I grew up in three places: California, France, and Germany. (It's a long story). Because I didn't spend much of my childhood in the U.S, I am ignorant in a lot of subjects--I'm getting better about it, though!

For example: I used to think big red barns only existed in fancy calendars. Imagine my surprise when I met my boyfriend's (now husband's) parents on their hobby farm in Michigan! There was a big beautiful red barn on their property! I was completely amazed! And enchanted!

We're spending some time with the in-laws now and I still love that they own a big red barn. Many Etsians are inspired by them too...

  1. I'm so flattered to be a part of your post Sarah! It's true that a real-live sighting of a big red barn is something special. Glad you enjoy it too!
    Cheers! :)

  2. I love what a barn makes me think of: lots of hard work and a huge reward... and ice tea! I grew up out in the stix, so barns were pretty common. Reminds me of my childhood :)

  3. Thank you Sarah for featuring my Barn Bulletin Board. I, like your inlaws, am too from Michigan, but from the Upper Peninsula. We have a few barns up here, not as many as downstate though. Enjoy your visit with your family! Peg

  5. I love barns as well. I grew up in a rural area, they aren't being kept up as much as they used to be. Times are changing.
