O Christmas Tree

For my whole life, I've only ever had a real Christmas tree, or an artificial green one. And our ornaments have always been an eclectic mix of sentimental handmade ones and random store bought ones over the years.

Have you ever done a monochromatic Christmas where you try to stick to a color scheme? The idea intrigues me. Here are some people that pulled it off really well:

  1. Yes! I've always wanted to do something like that- lots of matching and all. I grew up with an eclectic mix of ornaments too. My favorite were the ones I had made or my mom made. For several years she would keep the bottom piece of the tree trunk and glue a photo of us kids at Christmas then put a ribbon on it and hang in on the tree. I hope to do it for our kids someday :)

  2. I've never tried it, but I also just don't want to spend the money to try it either. I know someone who changes her theme EVERY year. CRAZY!

  5. It's always been a dream to do a monochromatic xmas but the hubby would freak out about me having to rebuy a bunch of holiday decor! LOL The white and teal pic is right up my alley!

  6. I think the monochromatic look is beautiful but feels a bit formal for me. I buy a couple of ornaments every year that represents what happened that year in our family. So my eclectic tree tells a story and is very personal.

  8. I like the monochromatic look but wouldn't give up the random sentimental ones collected through the years. I have very few sentimental ones on my tree since we're just starting out. My store bought ones are in green and gold color scheme.
