An Ode to the Lemonade Stand

The other day, as I was driving home from school in the stifling triple digit heat, I saw a little boy (with his mom nearby) set up on the corner of my street with a lemonade stand.

He was maybe six or seven, and waving enthusiastically at all the cars whizzing by. When I pulled into my driveway, I grabbed the dog and a few quarters and doubled back to the lemonade stand. I just couldn't help it. You've gotta support local businesses.... right?!

Below, some charming representations of the classic lemonade stand:

Did you ever sell lemonade as a kid? I'm so glad this classic tradition is still around, aren't you?

  2. I saw one on my way home from work last week too! But you're better than me to go back :) I did it once with a friend on her street, but wasn't allowed on my street since it was "too busy." Love the pics you found!

  3. It's been a long time since I've actually seen one. I'd like to think that I would stop to support local business!

  4. The sad part about me is that I probably wouldn't have been able to buy anything because I don't ever have any cash!

    I love the pics.

  5. We used to try to sell lemonade but we lived out in the country so we didn't have many customers, someone did give my brother a fifty cent piece once and he loved it!

What a fun post, perfect for one of the last days of summer!
