The fun little projects
The excuse to do some cooking
The hands on learning
But more than all of that, I'm glad that I have a job with a clear beginning and ending. Because truthfully? I would be incapable of being a good teacher if I didn't have the summer to recuperate.
And it's hard to talk about having the whole summer off when I'm around people that have "real" jobs. I feel guilty. I avoid the subject. I don't brag about the awesome places I get to go or the fun stuff I get to do, because I don't want to make anyone feel bad!
But today, in honor of sharing what's on my heart, I just want to say.... it's the last day of the school year and I am EXCITED for all of my summer fun to begin!!!
(PS: I'm linking up with Casey today!)
:D this post made me happy.

ReplyDeleteAw! I love teaching too. And I, like you, would not be a good teacher without summer. Enjoy it- guilt free! :)
ReplyDeleteNo shame in having a summer off! And no guilt either. We work hard educating the future adults of the world, and we deserve a little time off! :) Yay for being done!

I have a week left, can't wait! Love those grass people, so cute! And it is definitely true, we need the summer to recuperate a little or we would burn ourselves out!
